What Time Is It?
You know the drill. The only question to ask is the same one as always. Who will be the lucky band? It could be ANYBODY. Are you in suspense yet? Good. Let’s keep it that way. I’m just kidding. The lucky band for this week will be Mute Math!

MUTE MATH BIOGRAPHY:
First of all, Mute Math has also been portrayed as MUTEMATH and MuteMath. Second of all, my favorite song by them is obviously “Electrify” considering that its number ten on my list. The band was started when Paul Meany and Darren King began a “long-distance” musical correspondence”. Meany had been a member of the band Earthsuit previous to their meeting. He was working in New Orleans whereas King was working in Springfield, Missouri. They eventually put together enough songs by sending CDs back and forth to convince King to move to New Orleans; that way, it would be easier to start an actual band. Guitarist Greg Hill and bassist Roy Mitchell-Cardenas were added to Mute Math. Working together with lead singer Paul Meany and drummer/programmer Darren King, they completed their first compositions in 2003. The EP was launched by Teleprompt Records in 2004, and its success allowed for Warner Bros. to reissue the EP in 2005. Mute Math completed their self-titled debut album later that year, but legal problems arose between Teleprompt Records and Warner Bros. Warner Bros. ended up winning and Mute Math ended up with a more beneficial contract. “Typical” was their most popular single, topping the charts in 2007. However, Armistice was their biggest hit. This album was released in 2010, and they went on tour with it. Armistice Live was released in 2010. It was recorded from one of their many live concerts. The album that has been released most recently was Odd Soul in 2011. I love Mute Math, and now “Electrify” is stuck in my head. This is just great…

Upcoming Concerts:
Um, I have something to confess, I had almost two weeks(ish) to come up with new concert dates. I didn’t. I know, and I’m sorry! I PROMISE that I’ll have new dates up next time. I just didn’t have a chance to look them up. It’s quite time consuming you know. Some people have a lot of extra time to do nothing over break, but I’m too busy. Anyways, next time there will be new concert dates. Actually, they will be posted on next week’s first blog post. As always, let me know if there is a concert that you want to look into or let me know if you went to one. Also, I recently discovered a website that offers concert dates that are in or right around Buffalo, New York. Now there will be concerts closer to home (or my home anyway)!

Random Information:
This is actually relevant so hang in there and hear me out please. I went to see The Lego Movie over break. First of all, it was ADORABLE! Anybody who hasn’t seen it should go to see it as soon as possible. The previews before it are the important part of my story. There was a preview for a documentary about lemurs! It was called The Lemurs of Madagascar I believe. The music in this preview was none other than “On Top Of The World” by Imagine Dragons!!!!! I was so excited it’s not even funny. I started singing it in the theater and nobody joined me the first time. The second time, my cousin joined in with me. IT WAS AWESOME! EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!!!!!

Rewind:
Hi again everybody! I just wanted to remind you of what went down last week. That sounds a bit intense. Anyways, I started a biography for CHVRCHES. This week, I’m going to finish it! This is pretty much the exact same situation that I was in with Avicii’s biography. Seriously, people have WAY too much information about them for me to fit in one blog post. Last week I mentioned the origination of the name CHVRCHES, the members of the band, what instruments they play, and what they were doing before they got together. If you want more in depth information, just go back and read my post from last week. The second part of CHVRCHES biography will now begin!

CHVRCHES BIOGRAPHY-Take Two:
CHVRCHES is from Scotland actually. THAT’S SOOOOO COOL! Sorry, I got excited. The band was inspired by the works of Prince, Depeche Mode, and Kate Bush. They have extremely good taste in music. In Scotland, CHVRCHES is actually pronounced as churches. The band was formed in October 2011 as a studio project actually. Iain and Martin went to college together, and they were actually really good friends. When they needed a vocalist, Iain suggested Lauren since he had met her a couple years earlier when he had been working with Blue Sky Archives. “Lies” was released in May 2012 as their first official song. CHVRCHES released The Bones of What You Believe (debut album) on September 20th, 2013. The songs “The Mother We Share”, “Gun”, and “Recover” are the main hits from their debut album. I already mentioned their first performance in last week’s section so. The final piece of information that I have for this week is that the music of CHVRCHES is often described as electronic.

Hi everybody! Just like last week, there isn’t a concert going on today. Actually, never mind I lied. Sorry. There are TWO concerts going on later today by TWO different bands. For Today (yes, this is indeed a band) will be performing at 6:00pm at Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park, New York. The other concert will be by Wild Cub at 7:00pm. The performance will take place at The Hollow in Albany, New York. If you’re a dedicated concert-goer, then I’m sorry to say that you MOST likely won’t make it to both concerts. I’m pretty sure that that’s impossible. Anyways, let’s get back to concert dates shall we? Lettuce has a concert on Thursday, February 21st at 8:00pm. The concert will take place at Tralf in Buffalo, New York. Between The Buried And Me will be performing on Friday, February 22nd at 6:30pm. This performance will be held at the Upstate Concert Hall in Clifton Park, New York. The final concert date that I have on my list is Band Of Horses: Special Acoustic Performance. They will be performing on Sunday, February 23rd at 8:00pm. The location will be Hart Theatre at the Egg in Albany, New York. Now THAT is an interesting name for a place…maybe. I guess that I’ll be updating my list of concert dates soon. Oh joy, I get to look for MORE concerts. It looks like I’ll have my work cut out for me. At least I have about two weeks to look them up. See you next time!

Who Will Be The Lucky Band?
I believe that the title of this section says it all. If it doesn’t then this is the time when I will tell you what band I’ll be writing about (obviously). This week’s lucky band will be CHVRCHES!

CHVRCHES BIOGRAPHY:
First of all, Microsoft Word doesn’t approve of their name. I added it to the dictionary because I was getting annoyed. The band decided to spell it this way to set them apart on Google searches. If somebody was trying to look up CHURCHES, then they would probably get a lot of information about legitimate churches instead of the band. Google would most likely try to ask if you meant churches because it’s too exact. Anyways, that’s the reasoning behind the name of CHVRCHES. Personally, I like it better than CHURCHES anyways. It sounds more exciting, new, interesting, more like a band, etc.
CHVRHCES is a trio that’s composed of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook, and Martin Doherty. Lauren is the lead singer, and Iain and Martin are the keyboardists/vocalists. Yes indeed, they all sing. I like that about them. As a side note, I absolutely LOVE Lauren Mayberry’s voice!!!! It’s so pretty, and ugh! I don’t even know! Moving on…all three members used to be in different bands. They also have degrees in different fields other than producing/making music. CHVRCHES is relatively new, seeing as they appeared on stage for the first time in 2012. They also released their first album, The Bones of What You Believe, in 2013.

I’VE TRIED THIS BEFORE AND I WILL TRY IT AGAIN. I WILL CONTINUE THE BIOGRAPHY OF CHVRCHES IN MY BLOG POST FOR NEXT WEEK. THANK YOU FOR READING, AND I HOPE THAT I’LL SEE YOU NEXT TIME.
