Rewind:
Hi again everybody! I just wanted to remind you of what went
down last week. That sounds a bit intense. Anyways, I started a biography for
CHVRCHES. This week, I’m going to finish it! This is pretty much the exact same
situation that I was in with Avicii’s biography. Seriously, people have WAY too
much information about them for me to fit in one blog post. Last week I
mentioned the origination of the name CHVRCHES, the members of the band, what
instruments they play, and what they were doing before they got together. If
you want more in depth information, just go back and read my post from last
week. The second part of CHVRCHES biography will now begin!
CHVRCHES
BIOGRAPHY-Take Two:
CHVRCHES is from Scotland actually. THAT’S SOOOOO COOL!
Sorry, I got excited. The band was inspired by the works of Prince, Depeche
Mode, and Kate Bush. They have extremely good taste in music. In Scotland,
CHVRCHES is actually pronounced as churches. The band was formed in October
2011 as a studio project actually. Iain and Martin went to college together,
and they were actually really good friends. When they needed a vocalist, Iain
suggested Lauren since he had met her a couple years earlier when he had been
working with Blue Sky Archives. “Lies” was released in May 2012 as their first
official song. CHVRCHES released The
Bones of What You Believe (debut album) on September 20th, 2013.
The songs “The Mother We Share”, “Gun”, and “Recover” are the main hits from
their debut album. I already mentioned their first performance in last week’s
section so. The final piece of information that I have for this week is that
the music of CHVRCHES is often described as electronic.
