What Time Is It?
Its biography time of course! I haven’t done one of these in FOREVER. This week’s will be for Birdy. I love her voice so much! Without further ado, I give you Birdy’s biography!

Birdy’s Biography:
First of all, Birdy’s real name is Jasmine van den Bogaerde. She was born in Lymington, Hampshire in the U.K. on May 15th, 1996. Fame seems to run in her family seeing as her mother is a concert pianist, and her great uncle was an actor. Jasmine learned how to play the piano when she was seven, and started to write her own music when she was eight. Her career started when she was just twelve! Jasmine’s stage name was just her nickname that her parents gave her. The only people that call her Jasmine are her teachers. Anyways, her career started in 2008 when she won the Open Mic U.K. talent contest. Birdy won in her category as well as the Grand Prize. She beat 10,000 people and performed her own song, “So Be Free”. When she was fourteen, she released a cover version of Bon Iver’s song “Skinny Love”. This became her first hit on the U.K. Singles Chart. It was number 17! This song has gone far. It received Record of the Week, was featured in two television shows, and was sung on the Ellen DeGeneres show live. Her career has continued to escalate since then. You’ll never know what has become of Birdy…until next time!
