The Band
Is…
Have you figured it out yet? You better not of peeked.
Seriously. Look at the list, my list to be more specific, to see what band it could
possibly be. The biography for this week will be about…Coldplay! You didn’t see
that one coming now did you? They’re only on my list twice. Anyways, here is
the biography!
The Story
Of Coldplay:
First of all, isn’t this title the best? It’s just really
dramatic, and I’m loving it right now. Some of my favorite songs by them are
“Spies”, “Viva la Vida”, “Paradise”, “Clocks”, and “Magic”. I grew up listening
to Coldplay’s music. My mom loves them and now so do I. I mean, they formed in
1998 at the University College of London in…London. They formed the year that I
was born. Martin and Jon Buckland formed the band at college. They were both
guitarists, yet Martin also played piano and sang. They were later joined by
drummer Will Champion and bassist Guy Berryman. Their first shows were
performed under the label “the Coldplay”. They obviously changed their name but
not by much. Coldplay’s first EP, Safety,
came out in 1998. They got started right away. Brothers and Sisters EP was released the following year, and they
signed on with Parlophone. Parachutes was
their first album and “Yellow” became an instant hit. EVERYONE knew it. It was
one of the first awesome yet overplayed songs of 2001. Coldplay has a pretty lengthy
history, so I will continue their biography next week. Until next time, see you
later alligators!
