The Story Of Coldplay CONTINUED:
The next album to come out was A Rush of Blood to the Head. Several of their big hits came from this album including “In My Place”, “The Scientist”, “God Put A Smile On Your Face”, and “Clocks”. “Clocks” won the 2004 Grammy Award for Record of the Year. I LOVE that song. After this album came out, Martin became an “advocate of fair trade”. It’s said that he also supported John Kerry’s presidential bid which I find to be interesting for some strange reason. Coldplay gives ten percent of their money to charity. In 2005, they began to contribute more money to charity especially because of the release of their new album. This album was X & Y. This may just be the most unusual name for an album ever but then again, what do I know? This album went straight to Number One in 22 countries! This is nothing compared to Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends which was released in 2008. THIS album title is the best of all time! I’m just saying… In this album, Coldplay experimented with their music with the help of their producer, Brian Eno. People and critics everywhere admired the band for doing this so late in the game, and it sounded awesome! “Violet Hill” and “Viva La Vida” were the top two songs from this wildly famous album. “Viva La Vida” even won the Song of the Year at the Grammy Awards in 2009! After that, Coldplay went on tour all over North America, Latin America, and Europe. The band returned to London later in December later that year in order to work on another album. I love their music so much! EVERYONE knows a song by Coldplay.
