Who Will It
Be?
Well, it’s that time of the week everyone. I will pick a band
that I love, and I have the honor of presenting their biography to you! You’ll
never guess who this week’s band is…and yes, they’re on the list. The lucky
band for this week will be THE BRAVERY! Congratulations! Now, it’s time for the
biography (obviously).
The
Bravery: A Biography
First of all, I would just like to say that The Bravery is
probably one of my all-time favorite bands. I have a couple of singles from
them including: “Ours”, “Time Won’t Let Me Go”, “Honest Mistake”, and of course
“Believe”. This band was formed in 2003 during the post-punk revival in New
York City. Sam Endicott and John Conway came up with the idea for their band in
college where they competed in the collegiate ska outfit Skabba the Hut. By
early 2003, The Bravery was formed, and they moved to New York City. Anthony
Burulcich, Michael Zakarin, and Mike H. were added to the band before they
performed live. Endicott is the lead singer and he plays the guitar, Conway
plays the keyboard, Burulcich is the drummer, Zakarin also plays the guitar,
and Mike H. is the bassist. Their music is a combination of dance and indie
rock music. The Bravery got their start while playing at the Brooklyn Stinger
Club. Next came performing at Arlene’s Grocery, and the final step came in the
way of word of mouth. The Bravery was offered a recording contract by Island Def
Jams in the United States, and they also signed with Loog in the U.K. They were
moving up in the music industry.
Until Next
