Paramore Biography!

It’s biography time! This lucky band for this week is Paramore. I LOVE this band! The first song that I heard from them was “Decode”. My favorite songs by Paramore at the moment are “Monster”, “Now”, and “Crushcrushcrush”. Out of all of the artists on my iPod, I believe that I have the most songs for Paramore. I just love her voice because it can be soft and lyrical, or it can be loud and demanding. Her voice sounds great either way.
Paramore Biography:
Paramore was formed in Franklin, Tennessee after Josh and Zac Farro met Hayley Williams at their private school. In 2004, the band performed together for the first time. The band consisted of five people at this point. Hayley Williams (lead singer), Josh Farro (lead guitarist), Zac Farro (drummer), Jeremy Davis (bassist), and Jason Bynum (rhythm guitarist) were the original five members. Paramore’s 2005 debut album was All We Know Is Falling. This album became number thirty on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart. Riot, however, grabbed a spot on the Top Twenty Chart in 2007. This album contained two hit singles as well as their corresponding music videos. Between the releases of these two albums, the members of Paramore changed slightly. Hunter Lamb, for example, joined the band in 2005 as a guitarist, but he left in 2007.  At the 2008 Grammy Awards, Paramore was nominated for the Best Artist Award. In the summer of 2008, the band performed in their fourth Warped Tour. The members have changed yet again. Josh and Zac Farro left Paramore last year, leaving Hayley Williams and Jeremy Davis as the remaining original members. The band consists of bassist, Jeremy Davis, guitarist, Taylor York, and lead singer, Hayley Williams. Hayley is often praised for her strong singing voice and for her songwriting. Yay Paramore!

When I see my aunt next, I’ll ask her about it, but until then I must hang in suspense. I just thought that I should let you know. See you next time!

Muse Biography!

WHAT TIME IS IT? It is biography time people! Guess who the lucky band is this week? That’s right, it is…………………………………………………………………………...Muse! I’ve loved this band for a while now, but I have to say that “Follow Me” is my absolute favorite song by them. Well, maybe “Madness” tops it, or maybe “Panic Station”, or maybe…you get the point. Anyways, without further ado, I give you Muse’s biography!

MUSE:

Muse was formed in Devon, England in 1994. This band is actually a trio. Muse consists of lead singer and guitarist, Matt Bellamy, drummer, Dominic Howard, and Chris Wolstenholme who plays the harmonica. Although they were quite popular in the UK right away, it took at least a decade for them to be heard in the US. Muse’s 1999 debut, Showbiz did NOT make a huge impact on the US. Origin of Symmetry was released in 2001 which included more keyboard and piano to their music. This album was an immediate hit in the UK, but it wasn’t released until 2005 in the US. By the early 2000’s, they had become one of the most popular alternative bands in the world. Although they released two other albums, it wasn’t until 2004 that their music caught on in the US. The album that they performed while at the Coachella festival in the US was Absolution. “Time Is Running Out” was the hit single from this album, and it landed them a position on the Curiosa tour that summer. The next album, Black Holes & Revelations, received even more attention, and it had two hit singles, “Supermassive Black Hole” and “Starlight”. The band performed in a concert at Wembley Stadium, and they recorded this live performance in order to sell it as an album. The album was HAARP: Live at Wembley, and it was released in March 2008. This album was number 47 on the Billboard Top 200 list! Muse is still together, and they are still releasing great albums like Resistance and The 2nd Law. Personally, I have both of these albums on my iPod, and I can’t wait to hear more of their music. It’s so catchy! Now, please excuse me while I go sing “Follow Me” because it’s stuck in my head AGAIN! See you next time!

Florence + The Machine Biography

THE MOMENT YOU’VE ALL BEEN WAITNG FOR IS HERE! Well, maybe. I have anyways. It’s time for a band’s biography! This week’s lucky band is………………………………………………………………………………………..
FLORENCE + THE MACHINE!
The lead singer of this band is Florence Mary Leontine Welch, and she is from London, England. Florence + The Machine was founded in 2007. Her music can be described as a blend of pop, soul, and baroque. The subjects of the lyrics appear to be in the same category as Adele, Lilly Allen, etc. The band consists of Florence all of the time, as well as Isabella “Machine” Summers, and a rotating group of musicians. At the moment, the band consists of Robert Ackroyd, Tom Monger, Chris Hayden, and Mark Saunders. Robert is the guitarist, Tom is the harpist, Chris is the drummer, Mark is the bassist, and Isabella is the keyboardist. Their debut single was “Kiss with a Fist”. It was released in June 2008. Lungs was their debut album, and it was and still is, wildly popular. It was released in July 2009. “The Dog Days Are Over” was actually sung on the hit TV show Glee. That song was my favorite from that album. Florence has actually charted FORTY top singles in just twelve months before! I love her voice so much. My favorite album is actually Ceremonials. I have three songs from this album on my iPod. “What the Water Gave Me”, “Shake It Out”, and “No Light, No Light” are my favorites. This album was released on Halloween in 2011. If I was a singer, I would totally release my album on Halloween! “Shake It Out” was also sung on Glee. Florence + the Machine has won an MTV Video Music Award for Best Art Direction. Florence Welch is only 26 years old despite what many people may think. I know! I can’t wait to hear more of her music!

This week, I added new concert dates like I said that I would. To be honest, most of these bands are new to me, but I’ll just have to listen to some of their music. As you can see, “Afraid” by The Neighbourhood is still my favorite song. I have to say that I just heard “Gold” by Sir Sly about five days ago. I have already purchased the song. The song itself is extremely catchy, and it was stuck in my head all day yesterday (even during math…). Anyways, thank you for reading my blog, and I’ll see you next time!
