One
of the Original Alternative Bands...Dinosaur Jr.!
Dinosaur Jr. was formed in 1984 in
Amherst, Massachusetts. They have been around for at least 26 years! The band
members are J. Mascis, Lou Barlow, and Patrick Murphy. Dinosaur Jr. has a very
distinctive sound. Most describe it as "a sonic wall". This
"wall" is composed of a bass playing the melody, intense drumming,
and complex guitar solos as well as the actual lyrics to the song. You’re Living All Over Me and Bug were Dinosaur Jr.’s first and probably
most influential albums. These albums are now being brought back in order to
satisfy the hardcore fans who have been hard-pressed to find these albums; they
are very rare after all. They will be forty dollars and more on EBay and
Amazon. The five most popular Dinosaur Jr. songs are “In a Jar”, “Little Furry
Things”, “Freakscene”, “The Lung”, and “I Got Lost”. They obviously have many
other amazing songs, but these songs appear to be the most popular. Dinosaur
Jr. originally broke up in 1997, but they got back together in 2005. They are
still around today producing new, original music and re-recording their old,
popular albums. Dinosaur Jr. is here to stay.
