The Neighbourhood Biography:
At the moment, “Sweater Weather” is the number eight song in the alternative music world. Personally, my favorite song by them is “Afraid”. All of their songs are extremely catchy, and the lyrics are quite deep. The Neighbourhood is made up of five people. Jessie Rutherford is the lead singer, Jeremy Freedman is a guitarist, Zach Abels is also a guitarist, Mikey Margott is the bassist, and Bryan Sammis is the drum player. This band started out in Los Angeles in August 2011. The music that they create can be described as a combination of rock, R&B, and hip-hop. Some of you probably don’t know that the identity of the members of The Neighbourhood remained a mystery until recently. They first appeared online in 2012 with their song “Female Robbery”. Nobody knew anything about the band until they released the EP, “I’m Sorry”. They just released their first album, I Love You, this past April on the 22nd. Right before the release of this album, the band released the EP, “Thank You”. There are eleven songs on this album that most people describe as moody. The Neighbourhood has many concerts coming up, including one today in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There will be one tomorrow in Chicago, Illinois as well. Also, there will be two concerts in Ohio, one on October 4th and one on October 5th. The Neighbourhood is quickly becoming popular because their music is now on the radio, and they have revealed their identity. I’m excited to hear more of their music, but my favorite song at the moment is “Afraid”.
