WHAT TIME IS IT? It is biography time people! Guess who the lucky band is
this week? That’s right, it is…………………………………………………………………………...Muse! I’ve loved this band for a while
now, but I have to say that “Follow Me” is my absolute favorite song by them.
Well, maybe “Madness” tops it, or maybe “Panic Station”, or maybe…you get the
point. Anyways, without further ado, I give you Muse’s biography!
MUSE:
Muse was formed in Devon, England in
1994. This band is actually a trio. Muse consists of lead singer and guitarist,
Matt Bellamy, drummer, Dominic Howard, and Chris Wolstenholme who plays the harmonica.
Although they were quite popular in the UK right away, it took at least a decade
for them to be heard in the US. Muse’s 1999 debut, Showbiz did NOT make
a huge impact on the US. Origin of
Symmetry was released in 2001 which included more keyboard and piano to
their music. This album was an immediate hit in the UK, but it wasn’t released
until 2005 in the US. By the early 2000’s, they had become one of the most
popular alternative bands in the world. Although they released two other
albums, it wasn’t until 2004 that their music caught on in the US. The album
that they performed while at the Coachella festival in the US was Absolution. “Time Is Running Out” was
the hit single from this album, and it landed them a position on the Curiosa
tour that summer. The next album, Black
Holes & Revelations, received even more attention, and it had two hit
singles, “Supermassive Black Hole” and “Starlight”. The band performed in a
concert at Wembley Stadium, and they recorded this live performance in order to
sell it as an album. The album was HAARP:
Live at Wembley, and it was released in March 2008. This album was number 47 on the Billboard Top 200 list! Muse
is still together, and they are still releasing great albums like Resistance and The 2nd Law. Personally, I have both of these albums on
my iPod, and I can’t wait to hear more of their music. It’s so catchy! Now, please
excuse me while I go sing “Follow Me” because it’s stuck in my head AGAIN! See
you next time!
